







Since the stone lantern was removed for repairs, the front looked a bit empty, but the wide-open view of [Gakhwangjeon] still had a majestic presence that I loved.
Its unique placement, built right above a terraced stone base, made [Gakhwangjeon]—already large—look even more impressive, and the enormous wind boards, usually seen only in palaces, helped convey its grand scale.
From the faded roof tiles to the peeling dancheong (painted patterns), and the scent of old timber mingling with incense, it felt like the building was appealing to all my senses, telling me how old it truly is. I really loved that.
