(1) We lined up to enter like at an [amusement park], and even the viewing itself required waiting in line.
If you have enough time, I recommend visiting this exhibition on a weekday.

( 2) [Damien Hirst] is an artist who explores themes such as death through art.
This work is an installation where a [ball] is floating in the air above a [knives] using wind.
When I first saw this piece, I felt a sense of “precariousness,” and it made me think about many things.
It felt like I could intuitively sense what the artist wanted to convey.

( 3) Photo: [With the Head of a Dead Person]
It is said that this photo was taken when [Damien Hirst] followed someone into a mortuary as a child.
I think he said that although he was smiling at the time, it still felt terrifying.
I also remember reading that this memory became the reason he began thinking about death.

(4) [Spot Painting]
An early work from this series.
There were quite a lot of dot pattern artworks like this at the exhibition.

( 5) Other works by [Damien Hirst]

( 6) This artwork features a severed cow's head.
Nearby, there was an [insect trap], and [flies] repeatedly laid eggs and were killed by the [insect trap].
Through this, the artist tried to show the cycle of life and death.
I thought he clearly understood that death attracts people's attention more strongly than birth.

( 7) Learned helplessness that cannot escape (?)
Looking at this artwork reminded me of the times when I used to live alone and occasionally smoked with an [ashtray] on my desk.

( 8) [The Physical Impossibility of Death in the Mind of Someone Living]
A work in which a shark is placed inside a tank filled with formaldehyde.
The artist said he wanted to exhibit eternal death.
However, the shark actually began to slowly decay from the inside, so it was periodically replaced with a new one.
I found it interesting that while trying to exhibit eternal death, the work ultimately came to create a new meaning — that eternal death does not truly exist.

( 9) A work made by arranging pills.
This artwork was enormous.

( 10) Skulls
It seems that art is often not about the value or originality of a specific object itself, but about selling the concept or the process of reaching that idea.

(11) [for the love of god]
Of course, there are also artworks whose value is undeniably clear like this one.
This piece is a skull-shaped [platinum] cast made from a real skull, decorated with diamonds and the skull's actual teeth.
It is said that [Damien Hirst]'s mother used the phrase [for the love of god] habitually, which is why he chose it as the title of this work.

( 12) I want to come back to this [exhibition] once again on a weekday when there are fewer people.
I think it would be even better to listen to the [docent] and appreciate the artworks at a relaxed pace.

( 13) One of the famous series by this artist

( 14) After finishing viewing the [exhibition], I saw a space on the second floor that recreated the artist's studio exactly as it was.
I took photos with my smartphone and a [Rollei 35] camera, and the [Rollei 35] camera was really nice.
