Hi! Today I'll teach you how to make Sausage Roll!!
Sausage Roll is one of the frequently eaten foods in Australia that HANNI and DANIELLE introduced on their podcast!
It's a Sausage, but it's not the kind of sausage we usually think of. A sausage with only the inside without a casing (vinyl outer layer) is also called a sausage!
For today's recipe, refer to the video below!
Now, let me introduce the cooking ingredients first!!
1 onion, 1 carrot, 3 garlic cloves
Fennel seeds (if you don't have it, add a lot of pepper!)
Bacon, 1kg ground pork, salt, pepper
2 eggs, pastry dough sheet
Cut 5 strips of bacon into small pieces.
And I'll fry it in a frying pan!
Finely chop the carrots, onions, and garlic!
Add 0.5 tsp fennel seeds to the pan frying the bacon.
(It's for removing odors, so if you don't like the smell of fennel seeds, add a lot of pepper!)
Add chopped carrots, onions, and garlic.
Add 0.5 tsp salt too! (Not pictured, but add as much pepper as you like)
Add 1 egg and 1/4 cup of bread crumbs to the minced pork and mix first.
Add the sautéed bacon and vegetables and mix again!
Make a few slits on one side of the pastry sheet, then put the mixed sausage on it in a piping bag and pipe a line.
Then, apply egg wash made by mixing an egg with a spoonful of water on the end and roll it up.
Make a slit on the large rolled sausage roll, place it on an oven tray, then brush with egg wash and sprinkle with sesame seeds!
Bake in an oven preheated to 180 degrees for 30 minutes and it's done!
Australians eat this food with ketchup!
The savory buttery pastry and light sausage go really well together!!
I slightly lightened the seasoning, but you can add more salt if you like it salty!
Thank you so much for reading!
Next time, I'll teach you how to make Australian desserts!!
Happy 2nd Anniversary [NewJeans]!!!!
