[Cheongnamdae] Location:
646 Cheongnamdae-gil, Munui-myeon, Sangdang-gu, Cheongju-si, Chungcheongbuk-do (26-1, Sindae-ri)
This place used to be the exclusive villa of the President of the Republic of Korea.
The meaning of this place's name is 'Blue House' of the South.
This place's Construction began in June 1983 and was completed in December of that year.
Five presidents used this place: Chun Doo-hwan, Roh Tae-woo, Kim Young-sam, Kim Dae-jung, and Roh Moo-hyun.
There is an entrance after passing the ticket booth.
There were local specialties being sold nearby.
It seemed that [perilla sesame oil] and [Chamsongi-mushrooms] were famous here.
The main visitors here were soldiers and the elderly.
There were especially many elderly people.
It seemed that many elderly people came here because there was a lot of flat land and the trees were well maintained.
The trees here were different from the usual trees.
This place was opened to the public on April 18, 2003.
And now it has become a tourist attraction.
Here, like the 'Blue House', you must take off your shoes and enter with them.
Entrance fee: 4,000 won
The ceiling here was low.
There were a lot of rooms here.
And the 'furniture' here was luxurious.
The building had a 1970s-1980s vibe.
This place had a good view.
The building that looks like the 'Blue House' in the first photo was built recently.
There was a 'Presidential Memorial Hall' and a cafe here.
There were 'bunkers' everywhere.
This place has been used by past presidents.
Therefore, this place was strictly off-limits to the general public and outsiders until it was opened to the public.
The place seemed very well maintained, but the music was way too loud.
There were also pictures of presidents.
I recommend going here on a nice day.
This place is quite large.
I walked around here for only 2 hours and I felt like I hadn't even seen 1/3 of it.
