The road I took this time was the road up the back road of Chilgung Palace (Daegyeong Villa). Many military facilities, such as the old Blue House guard post, remained. Since it starts from a lower place than Changuimun Gate, there is a slightly steeper slope.
Something like a cannon stand??? People with an artillery background will be familiar with this.
Cement mixed with rough gravel and narrow, low stairs. At the beginning, there is a tile-walled road that encompasses the Blue House.
A staircase that is 50 years old. Cement is amazing. Some cement becomes crumbly and mossy after only a few years.
Was it well preserved here because the climate was suitable? It was very firm without crumbling.
Inwangsan Mountain and guard post facing each other. The guard posts were a mixture of new and old-looking ones.
A zigzag winding staircase. The iron railing with several coats of paint was impressive. When you hold it, a crumbly coating comes out. Although it was cumbersome to go up, it was a very atmospheric road. short.
intermediate shelter. It's like a roundabout with a fork in the road leading to Samcheong-dong and Hyoja-dong. If you go up, there is a road to Cheongundae, the top of Baekaksan Mountain... There were commemorative plantings for presidents such as Lee Myung-bak and Roh Moo-hyun.
Hornbeam tree planted in commemoration of Roh Moo-hyun.
Based on the Blue House, Bukaksan Mountain to the back, Inwangsan Mountain to the west, and Mokmyeoksan Mountain to the south... It's a bit disappointing that there's nothing to the east. Would it be better to not have anything to receive the morning sunlight?
After this, it was just a mountain road so I didn’t take any pictures.
If you like old cement roads, I recommend going there once. A place called Chilgung (a shrine that enshrines the mothers of kings of the Joseon Dynasty) on the way here is nice. You can go without a reservation, and there aren't many visitors, so it's always quiet. It is a place where Hanok shrines are gathered.
