This is what came to mind while reading the post above about the restoration of Sujeongjeon’s Haenggak,,
This is the current status of the side door that we use as a passage when entering and leaving the Geunjeongjeon area and the Sujeongjeon area.
In other words, it is currently going in and out through that passage.
When I went this way, I didn't think much of it.
I thought it must have been like this from the beginning and just passed on.
If you think about it, this is really strange.
That's not a door or anything,
When the king walked between the palace halls, did he really go through the shabby side gate that opened up the palace hall like that?
At least, the common side door of Gyeongbokgung Palace is
It was written in a formal manner, as shown below.
But even this side door
It was not a passageway for the king to travel through.
If I had gone somewhere like this, it would have been a shameless act that went against my dignity.
So if you just think about it
I guess the passageway that goes in and out of Sujeongjeon is,
I think they opened up two spaces in the haenggak as a temporary measure.
Is there anyone you know well?
What is it that keeps tourists coming and going through that passage?
Something about Joseon's architecture or ritual system
I even have concerns that it might give a misleading perception.
Restore the behavior before modification,
I hope there comes a day when we can come and go through formal doors.
