Odaesan Mountain. It was prettier than I thought and easier than I thought. It's been 3 years since I went hiking properly (I gave up on Mt. Seorak, which I went to 3 years ago...), so I couldn't find hiking clothes, so I dressed roughly and went, but Odaesan was more beautiful than I expected.
It took about 2 hours and 40 minutes to reach Birobong Peak, even if you are a beginner in mountaineering and can't even show off your business card. It's a not difficult course that can be climbed in about 2 hours if you follow it properly and keep stopping while taking pictures. I came down at 4 o'clock because I was taking pictures of Sangwangbong Peak thanks to the advice of someone I met at the top... (I should have been suspicious since I wasn't even wearing crampons on a day like this) If you ever go to Pyeongchang or Gangneung, do a round trip to Birobong Peak at least once. I hope you go.
I went there at the end of January, and while looking at photos of other people's trips the night before, I impulsively bought a train ticket. On this day, the air quality was particularly good, so I could see not only Daecheongbong Peak but also the direction of Daeamsan Mountain in Yanggu in the distance. In photo number 8, what is visible in the background is Balwangsan Mountain with Phoenix Park, and in photos 14 and 17, what is visible in the background is Daecheongbong Peak. The last photo is of Birobong Peak taken on the way down. Clearly, the Korean landscape is greatly influenced by the presence or absence of fine dust.
