When I first started using a camera, the greatest form of “rebellion” I could manage secretly drinking a very small amount of fruit soju once a month, or sneaking out at sunrise to watch the sunrise. There simply wasn't much to do in the countryside.
Even after I started living alone and no longer needed to sneak out, and even when I began ending my days by watching sunsets more often instead of sunrises, I continued living this emotionally flat, uneventful routine.
