I made a dish that is often uploaded on YouTube in the US these days.

This is a restaurant called [Golden Diner] in New York.

It's so popular that it's even won awards for Best Restaurant in America.

Then, they recently published a recipe in [The New York Times Cooking].

So, I saw the recipe and made it myself.

This recipe was truly unique.

Unique Point (1):

[Buttermilk], [Yeast], [Flour]

Mix the above ingredients to make a dough.

This adds a bit of [fermented flavor].

Unique Point (2):

[Honey], [Maple Syrup], [Butter], [Soy Sauce]

The ingredients listed above are used to make syrup.

Unique Point (3):

This recipe adds butter to the syrup, and honey and maple syrup to the butter.

I thought it was a very American recipe.

[Blueberry Compote]

This recipe uses this ingredient.

Mix [egg] and [oil] into the yeast-raised dough.

Then, mix in [flour] and [baking soda] and bake.

The dough produced this way was very dry.

So, I had to bake the outside of the dough in a pan and then bake it again in the oven.

Unlike regular pancakes, this dish had a crispy exterior and a moist interior.

And the addition of butter and [berry compote] made it even more enjoyable to eat.

If regular pancakes are a 6 out of 10, this dish deserves an 8 out of 10.
